These Portuguese Water Dogs are incredible. Cindy and Henri breed the most beautiful well tempered dogs. They are very passionate about the breed and knowledgeable. Anyone who gets a dog from them is very lucky and should know they are getting the best of the breed.
The whole process of getting a dog is wonderful and you feel part of the Charbr community. They give you so much information so that you can raise the best dog possible. They truly care about their dogs and the people who own them. We have had Hazel for three years and she has been such a gift. 

 
Picked up my puppy River on Sept 12, 2020. Henri and Cindy do everything possible to give you a puppy that fits your family. Their life is Portuguese Water Dogs. They expose your puppy to lots of things to make them stable and confident puppies they also keep you involved in the pups development prior to it coming home via live video and by giving you a ton of info on dog ownership and health
 

They were referred to me highly recommended and I in turn highly recommend them as excellent knowledgeable and ethical breeders. You will be proud to tell people that you have a Charbr Portuguese Water Dog and their price is fair. 

You won't find a better breeder! They truly love what they do which made it so easy to transition to being puppy owners, they helped us so much with all of our questions and 4 years later, I know undoubtedly that we made the right decision getting our baby Stella from Henri and Cindy!

My husband and I would highly recommend Charbr if you are looking at adding a PWD to your family. Both Cindy and Henri are exceptional breeders that put their heart and soul into providing second to none top quality puppies. 

Mazie (2 1/2) is my pride and joy. She is my second PWD and I'm so glad that I found Charbr. We have aced the RallyO classes and she loves the challenge and brain work. Very intelligent dogs that love life, are extremely loyal and super fun. Mazie likes to romp with other dogs in the fields.  

If you are looking for a Portuguese Water Dog (PWD) look no further than Charbr. They are the best breeders you will find. They are a CKC registered Breeder and have almost 20 years of breeding experience. Through the years Cindy and Henri have shown and raised many show and champion dogs, many of whom have been used to breed the finest PWD dogs around, as can be seen on their web site.
From the moment I made my first contact with them I knew they were the breeder I wanted my puppy from. They interviewed me to see what I knew about the breed, and whether my home and circumstance was where they wanted to place one of their dogs. For them it is vital that their puppies go to a great home.
Once I made it on the waiting list for a puppy, Cindy and Henri made themselves available to answer any questions. They would recommend web sites for us to look at so that we could learn about proper training ideas. They suggested things to buy for the puppy so we are well prepared when we brought our pup home. They also sent information on what to expect as far as behaviour that would be typical from one week to the next as well as from one month to the next. All extremely helpful valuable.
We also had the opportunity to visit the pups at a mutually agreed time to hold and play with them. At around 8 weeks we learned which pup would be coming home with us. Cindy and Henri had carefully watched the pups to learn about their different personalities and behaviour. Cindy uses different criteria for deciding which pup would go to which home. For instance, do you have young children, is there another dog at home, do you plan to show your dog or plan to compete and do sports with your dog. All dogs display certain personality traits, some being quieter, others being more adventurous etc. You read repeatedly on their Facebook page, Cindy chose the perfect dog for us.
Charbr has a great web site where all their dog owners can post fun photos, ask questions and learn lots of information.
Finally, the day comes to pick up your puppy and take them home. Once again Cindy prepares a take home package with a homemade blanket (that has it's litter mates smells on it), a homemade toy, Kong teddy and snuffle ball, food, coupons for a few supplies and many more items plus an information binder with notes on your Pup's Mom and Dad's OFA Canine Health Information, your pups health records from the multiple vet checkups they have done and a month’s free pet insurance.
I cannot imagine another breeder being so accommodating and detailed as Cindy and Henri are at Charbr.

I would strongly recommend Charbr as your first choice if you are looking to add a Portuguese Water Dog to your family. They do an amazing job of preparing you for your new addition, with information sessions, always available to answer questions.  Amazing breeders. I have two Charbr pups and they are the best. Cindy and Harry socialize the pups so well and stay engaged with their families for all of the pups lives. It’s amazing. 

I am so grateful to Charbr Portuguese Water Dogs for allowing Mauzzi to become a part of our family. Mauzzi is a fantastic performance dog, there really isn’t anything he can’t do but most importantly he is kind, sweet, caring and thoughtful with a great sense of humour. Many judges have told me he is a true Water Dog - high praise indeed!
